Whole aniseeds, 50 g. Anise has a sweet, liquorice-like aroma and is milder than star anise, which is a completely different plant.
The seeds are used in baking such as gingerbread and biscotti, in pickling, and in spice blends for sausages and stews. Crush them lightly in a mortar just before use to release the oils. See more in whole spices.
