Lobo Holy Basil Seasoning Paste 400g is a ready-made Thai seasoning paste for pad kra pao – the street-food classic with holy basil, garlic and chilli that many consider Thailand's real national dish. The paste captures the distinctive, peppery basil aroma that is otherwise hard to come by.
Fry minced chicken or pork in a hot pan, stir in the paste and serve over steaming rice – ideally topped with a crisp fried egg with a runny yolk, just as in Bangkok. Equally good with tofu or mushrooms. More flavourful shortcuts are in the Thai kitchen.
