Drying strengthens the natural flavour of the mushroom considerably, and the ready slices save you both soaking whole mushrooms and cutting them – straight into the pot, and that is that.
Soak the slices in hot water for 20–30 minutes until soft, and use both the mushrooms and the flavourful soaking water in your cooking.
